In today’s NY Times, we learn Major League Baseball Advanced Media (known as MLBAM) wants to sue some little fantasy league operator running out of St. Louis. What a bunch of ogres and idiots in this organization.
And what a boneheaded move strategically. By allowing (and encouraging) fans to run fantasy leagues, you deepen their bond with the game. Why would anyone in their right mind want to deter that? Or force that grassroots activity to occur only in MLB-sanctified Soviet stores?
I’ve always loved baseball the best among professional sports, but my love for the sport is mirrored by a loathing for the dopey, idiot-village that is the MLB. A bunch of Forrest Gumps without the heart.
