Watching the Democratic debate tonight, I had two reactions:
1. Obama is ready to be President, far more so than the others I think. His answers, especially on the tough foreign policy questions, showcase a mental agility and an ability to deal with problems — especially the “unknown unknowns” — that clearly surpasses the others.
2. It’s now clear what he has in mind — a 1932 sized realignment for the Democrats. His model isn’t JFK — it’s FDR. That might have been a fanciful thought before Iowa. Now it seems possible.
